Confederate Democrat Greets WI GOP

As some may have heard, Wisconsin State Rep. Brett Hulsey, a Democratic long-shot candidate for governor, planned on handing out KKK hoods to WI State GOP Convention goers in response to the ultimately failed secession vote. 

We spoke to Hulsey on the street in response to his claims of GOP homophobia and racism. We responded that we are proud Republicans who support LGBT rights, celebrate complete inclusion in the party, and oppose secession, effectively deflating his entire argument. The conversation ended with Hulsey proclaiming he likes Barry Goldwater. We agreed.

It's not everyday a Republican group can get a Democrat dressed as a Confederate to confess an admiration for a Republican presidential candidate (who is known for conservatism).

We can diffuse nonsense by proving it false. Remember, there are crackpots on both sides. Hulsey is the Democratic crackpot response to the secessionist crackpots in the GOP.

Stand up to crackpots all. Show them Republicans stand for people of all stripes.
