National Freedom Day
On National Freedom Day we honor the joint House and Senate resolution, which would become the 13th Amendment, signed by Abraham Lincoln on February 1, 1865. The 13th Amendment outlawed slavery and became the most prominent legacy of the Republican Party and abolitionist movement.
