The Original Progressives

The Republican Party began as a 19th century progressive movement. It was forged with the abolition of slavery under Abraham Lincoln. In the 20th century, progress was advanced with trust reform under Theodore Roosevelt. Republicans truly have a history of progressive support of human rights, corporate regulation and liberty. 

Progress exists when embracing new ideas and change to make the country better for all citizens.
