Coming or Going: A Different Perspective on the Immigration Debate

We forget that the "illegal immigrants" coming from East Berlin during the Cold War were escaping a horrible life, and in some circumstances certain death. Crossing that wall wasn't an act of invasion or an attempt to take jobs; these people were seeking life. We should keep this in mind when we think about our neighbors to the south. To risk limb in the desert for a chance of a better life shows how desperate the situation is. In some circumstances people like this would be considered refugees.

Contact Congress and LIKE us on Facebook if you think Republicans should own compassionate immigration reform that strengthens our communities, increases process efficiencies, and allows for those already here to feel comfortable seeking legal status.
